Romeo Gillyard is a Captain in the Alabama Army National Guard who began his military career in 2014. While attending University of North Alabama (UNA), he completed ROTC commissioning as a Secon Lieutenant in 2016. After commissioning and finishing the Signal Basic Officer Leadership Course, he was deployed to the Middle East. He has gone on multiple tours in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Spartan Shield. He has served as a Platoon Leader, Company Operations Officer, Staff Logistics Officer and Company Commander.
Outside of the Military, Romeo spent 15 years as a police officer at UNA. While there he completes a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Criminal Justice. After joining the Military, Romeo has continued to provide public service in several capacities with government agencies and private firms.
